Wash. Cty, Homeschool team wins in Omaha, NB!

I know some of these kids and they are majorly talented.... Congrats!!!

The Washington County Home School Association’s varsity boys and girls competed in the regional home school tournament in Omaha, Neb.

There are 16 varsity boys teams and nine varsity girls teams participating. So far the boys have won their first three games of the tournament.

The boys won their first game 72-39 over the Kirksville Knights.

They had an 84-44 victory over the Wichita Defeders in game two, in which Peter Giove lead all scorers with 17. Nate Gumness and Tyler Koepke adding 12 a piece and Josh DeSmidt with 10.

The second game, Koepke took top scoring honor with 19 and DeSmidt put in 17 a close second. McColloch and Gumness both added 14 points.

In the third game, the top scorers were Tyler Koepke and Daniel McColloch, both with 21 points. McCulloch came out with three 3-pointers in row in the first quarter and Koepke followed that up with three 3-pointers in the second quarter and ended with five 3-pointers in the game. The boys won that game 68-40 against the FFAI Defenders.

The girls Lost their first game on Thursday 74-48 to the Wichita Defenders.

They bounced back Friday with a 55-45 victory over the St. Louis Patriots.

In the first game, the Eagles were lead in scoring by Abby Hovorka with 11 points and was followed by Dannelle Schubert with 10.

In the second game Hovorka again lead all scorers with 14 points, while Joanna Giove had 12.
